This is really disappointing news if you cannot download roster updates unless you have Xbox Live Gold. I would even call it embarrassing, because other EA Sports games doesn't have this problem, but allow you to download roster updates under team management. I even tweeted the devs, back when the menu interface was released, if they had addressed the way you download rosters, but never got a reply.

Once you have the rosters downloaded to your console I believe they will be available to all profiles on that console so you can delete the new profile. I tried using a 14 day trial card and I am still getting this error. It appears you NEED to pay for at least one month.
Does anyone know if the roster updates are account specific or console specific. My friend pays for gold, can he sign in and update them and will be available on my account as well?
