Plies Member Member 27 posts. Your wrong about Windows Defender being Vista exclusive. Posted 07 July - PM. Cybertimber Member Member 48 posts. Windows Defender was origional designed, tested and created for Windows XP, and was named Windows Antispyware until the second beta, when it was renamed Windows Defender.
All versions of Windows Vista ship with Windows Defender 3. Some additional new features of Windows Vista are mainly what people have been griping about for years. Updated looks, better support for the disabled larger icon options, system wide font size change, etc. But its not just for the average person, Windows Vista also has an updated Directx which will allow games to become much smaller filesize, yet have much better quality to them.
And thats a very very small portion of the new features I've metioned. What specifically are you planning to use Vista for? Home, work, etc? Time saving, convenience, improved security with UAC User Account Control , includes Direct X 10 for better game graphics, enhanced desktop with 3D technology, quicker booting and shutdown, Internet Explorer 7, streamlined Windows Update, updated Windows Media Player, updated Windows Photo Gallery, updated DVD Maker application, new games, tuned-up parental controls, improved backup program, enhanced System Restore, peer-to-peer collaboration, Quick setup, updated graphical user interface and visual style.
Issues with security, performance and the presence of product activation, vulnerabilities due to buffer overflows, susceptibility to malware, trouble running MS-DOS programs. High system requirements, restrictive licensing terms, new digital rights management technologies, restriction of copying of protected digital media, lack of compatibility with some pre-Vista hardware and software, number of authorization prompts for User Account Control.
Difference between Windows XP and Vista. Key difference: Windows Vista is the newer operating system by Microsoft. The start menu is more advanced in Vista compared to XP.
With Vista, you have a much broader range of search leverage. XP can be somewhat of a problem to keep the programs organized when you have several whereas with the Vista the programs are scrolled within the start menu making it much less confusing when you want to find a particular program. It can be overwhelming with its 3 column wide display. Now in Vista the folders open and close with a single click. In addition to this in Vista, the ability to search is always present. In Vista there is a power button in the bottom right hand corner.
This allows all the pending updates to be installed and then once the update process is completed puts the computer into sleep mode.
It came to my attention somehow they know my Browser etc. It would state that you are using " Windows Vista" and all the factors thast go along with it. My question.. I have always had Windows XP Are they the same or equal?
I thought they were two separate. One more question.. Is this correct?
